Clear

Privacy

Privacy Policy

Clear is built for clarity and privacy. We process your text only to return the refined version and keep no message history.

What we process

Messages you send to Clear to generate the rewritten version, plus minimal usage telemetry (counts, errors) for reliability.

What we do not store

We do not store the messages you send for rewriting. Inputs and outputs are discarded after the response is returned.

Installation data and Slack access tokens

When you install Clear, Slack provides an access token that allows the app to operate in your workspace. We store this token securely in an encrypted database (Cloudflare D1) to enable ongoing functionality — for example, to respond to slash commands and render the App Home tab. The token is never shared with third parties and is only used to make API calls on behalf of your workspace. You can revoke access at any time by removing the app from your Slack workspace, after which the token is deleted from our systems upon request.

Third-party processing

We route requests through OpenRouter to trusted AI model providers (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI) to generate rewritten messages. Data is transmitted securely, not stored for model training, and not retained by Clear after processing.

Analytics

We use lightweight analytics (PostHog) only on the public website for traffic insights. We do not collect or store message content in analytics.

Access and deletion

Because we do not persist message content, there is no message data to delete. For account or workspace questions, contact us.

Security

All communication between Slack, Clear, and model providers uses HTTPS. Access to infrastructure is restricted and audited.

Changes

We may update this policy as we evolve the product. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via release notes.
